SEC. 7. And be it enacted. That the citizens of the said
town, a suitable time before said election, shall assemble and
nominate one or more candidates for the respective offices,
and the ticket so nominated shall be the official ballot to be
voted at said election, and a vote cast for either of the respec-
tive candidates shall be counted as a vote in favor of this Act.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That Leonard Keyes, P. H. Galla-
gher, Jr., and Gordon Durst be and are hereby appointed regis-
trars to hold the first registration of voters under this Act,
and that as soon as practicable after the passage of this Act
they shall give at least ten days' notice of the time and place,
by hand bills posted in at least three public places in said
town, at which all qualified voters as prescribed in the third
section of this Act, may register; and the said officers of reg-
istration shall take the oath before some justice of the peace
of said county to permit every qualified person to register, and
none other. The majority of said registration officers shall
have power to do all things under this section in the event of
the death or the refusal of one of them to act; that upon the
completion of the registry of voters the registrars herein named
shall give to the judges of election herein named a list of the
voters registered. That after the first election the Mayor and
Council shall make rules and regulations in regard to registra-
tion as they may deem proper.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted. That Joseph McCormick, Albert
Frenzel and R. K. Snyder be and they are hereby appointed
judges of election to hold the first or second election under this
Act; and that ten days before the third Tuesday in April, 1908,
they shall give notice that the election will be held, and the
place thereof, by hand bills posted in at least three public
places in said town, at which election all persons duly regis-
tered under the eighth section of this Act shall be entitled to
vote for one person for Mayor, four persons for Councilmen,
one person for clerk, one person for bailiff, and that said judges
of election, before opening the polls, shall take oath before some
justice of the peace of said county to permit every registered
voter to vote, and none other; and a majority of said judges
shall have power to conduct said election in case one of them
dies or refuses to act; and they shall make returns to the clerk
of the Circuit Court for Allegany county as specified in section
six of this Act.
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the said Mayor and Coun-
cilmen, or a majority of them, shall have power to pass all
ordinances necessary for the good government of said town;
to prevent and remove all nuisances in or upon the streets,
highways, lanes or alleys, drains or water courses, or in or
