per diem of twenty-six senators at five dollars each, for the per
diem of one secretary at ten dollars, for per diem of one reading
clerk at ten dollars, for the per diem of one journal clerk at
ten dollars, for the per diem of one chief engrossing clerk
at seven dollars, for the per diem of one sergeant-at-arms at
five dollars, and for per diem of the speaker of the House at
eight dollars, for per diem of one hundred members at five dol-
lars each, for the per diem of one chief clerk at ten dollars,
for the per diem of one journal clerk at ten dollars, for the
per diem of one reading clerk at ten dollars, for the per diem of
one chief engrossing clerk at seven dollars, for per diem of
one chief clerk to the committee on claims at seven dollars,
for the per diem of one sergeant-at-arms at five dollars, and
for the per diem of doorkeepers, assistant doorkeepers, post-
masters, assistant postmasters, keepers of the cloakrooms,
janitors, folders, committee clerks, engrossing clerks, pages,
chaplains, stenographers and clerks, for the House and Senate,
. a per diem of five dollars each, together with mileage for the
members and officers, postage, stationery and miscellaneous
expenses.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 219.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to meet the additional
expenses of the Legislature of Maryland for the session of
1908.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of thirty thousand dollars, or so much
thereof as may necessary, be and the same is hereby appro-
priated to pay the members and officers of the General Assem-
bly, as well as all miscellaneous expenses of said session, in
accordance with chapter 809 of the Acts of 1906.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of the State
shall, on the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the said sum
of money herein appropriated for the objects and purposes
herein specified, to or upon the order of the person or persons
entitled to receive the same.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
