CHAPTER 194.
AN ACT to repeal section 2 of chapter 263 of the Acts of 1902,
entitled "An Act to cede the jurisdiction of the State of
Maryland to the United States of America over so much land
as has been or may be hereafter acquired for the public pur-
poses of the United States, " for the purpose of making the
same applicable to Charles county, by repealing the exemp-
tion in said Act with reference to Charles county, subject to
conditions hereinafter set forth in section 2.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 2 of chapter 263 of the Acts of 1902, enti-
tled "An Act to cede the jurisdiction of the State of Maryland
to the United States of America over so much land as has been
or may be hereafter acquired for the public purposes of the
United States, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
SEC. 2. That all lands and tenements which may be granted
as aforesaid to the United States shall be and continue" so long
as the same shall be used for the purposes in the last section
mentioned, exonerated and discharged from all taxes, assess-
ment and other charges which may be imposed under the
authority of the State of Maryland; provided, however, that
the rights of citizenship and other rights as residents of
Charles county of persons domiciled on land owned by the
United States at Indian Head shall be continued and enjoyed
by them to the same extent as now provided by law for per-
sons domiciled at the Naval Academy at Annapolis as resi-
dents of Anne Arundel county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and the same
are hereby repealed, and that this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
