SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 89.
AN ACT for the relief of the Maryland Asylum and Training
School for Feeble Minded and to make appropriations there-
for.
WHEREAS, An addition has just been completed to Pembroke
Cottage at said institution, capacity for 50 additional inmates,
and is now ready for occupancy, but no appropriation has been
made for equipping and furnishing the same, or for the sup-
port of its inmates; and,
WHEREAS, An indebtedness has been incurred by its board of
visitors for extraordinary and unavoidable necessary expenses.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of eighteen thousand five hundred dollars be
and the same is hereby appropriated for the relief of the
Maryland Asylum and Training School for Feeble Minded, pay-
able out of any funds in the Treasury available for that pur-
pose; eight thousand five hundred dollars thereof to be ex-
pended in the equipping and furnishing the addition to Pem-
broke Cottage and support of fifty additional inmates therein
during the fiscal year ending September, 1908, and ten thousand
dollars to pay the present indebtedness of said institution; and
the Comptroller of the Treasury is hereby authorized to draw
his warrant on the Treasurer of this State for said appropria-
tion immediately after the passage of this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
