the credit of the tobacco warehouse fund; for the naming of
a commission to have general charge of said building opera-
tions, expenditures and disbursements; and for the loca-
tion in said new warehouse of certain offices for the use of the
tobacco industry in the State of Maryland; and for the
repairing of the State Tobacco Warehouses that will remain.

WHEREAS, Since the passage of chapter 426 of the laws of
1904, the insurance money therein referred to has been collected,
the sites of State Tobacco Warehouses Nos. 1, 2 and 3A have
been sold by the Board of Public Works, and all the moneys so
received have been paid into the Treasury of the State of
Maryland to the credit of the tobacco warehouse fund; and

WHEREAS, The authority conferred by said chapter 426 of
the laws of 1904, to build a tobacco warehouse, etc., has not
been acted upon, and it is not now expedient to act upon it,
and chapter 804 of the laws of 1906 has been declared invalid
by the Court of Appeals of the State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new State Tobacco Warehouse shall be erected
upon one or more of the sites of the existing State Tobacco
Warehouses in the city of Baltimore. Said new warehouse
shall be fireproof, of not less than six stories in height and
equipped with all modern appliances for the inspection and
storage of tobacco; and shall contain in addition to the offices
necessary for the transaction of the business of said inspec-
tors and storage, such office or offices as may be applied for
and needed, severally or jointly, as a meeting place by the Mary-
land Tobacco Growers Association, incorporated, or by the
Leaf Tobacco Association of Baltimore City, in connection with
the tobacco industry, such office or offices to be furnished, free
of rent, to such association or associations, by the Board of
Public Works.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the members of the
Board of Public Works and William B. Clagett, of Prince
George's county, Adrian Posey, of Charles county, John H-
Drury, of Calvert county, and Joshua S. Rawlings and Henry
B. Vock, of Baltimore city, shall be and they are hereby con-
stituted the State Tobacco Warehouse Building Commission
for the purposes of this Act, and a majority thereof shall con-
stitute a quorum for the transaction of business. Each member
of said Commission shall be reimbursed his actual expenses,
but shall receive no compensation for his services.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Governor of the
State shall be chairman of said Commission and shall fill any
