1484 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

and seventeen cents (1875.17). amount advanced by him to
the State of Maryland for expenses in the conduct and main-
tenance of the office of State Game Warden to April 10,
1908.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to draw his warrant on the Treasurer
of the State of Maryland for the sum of eight hundred and
seventy-five dollars and seventeen cents (|875.17) in favor of
the said Oregon Milton Dennis, State Game Warden, for ex-
penses advanced by him in the conduct and maintenance of
the office of the State Game Warden of Maryland to April
10, 1908.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved as to five hundred dollars and disapproved as to
the balance, namely, three hundred and seventy-five dollars
and seventeen cents.

Approved April 13, 1908.

CHAPTER 261.

AN ACT appointing a committee of three with power and au-
thority to purchase or erect a suitable building with neces-
sary grounds for the use of the Patapsco Academy in Anne
Arundel county, and appropriating a sum of money therefor.

Whereas the Patapsco Academy, situated in the fifth elec-
tion district of Anne Arundel county, was established more
than half a century ago, and has continued to do excellent
work in the field of education until the present day; and

Whereas the building and grounds used by the said academy
for more than twenty years is the propertj- of the estate of the
late William A. Shiplejv who departed this life within the
past year, and in the settlement of whose estate it will be
necessary to dispose of the said property; and

Whereas the said institution is without funds with which to
purchase the building when sold, and unless some remedy is
provided by the State, must cease operation; now. therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Hezekiah L. Shipley, Seth H. Linthicum and W.
Hampton Linthicum be and.they are hereby constituted a
committee with power and authority to purchase, if possible,
in the name of the State, the present building and ground now
occupied by the said Patapsco Academy at Shipley station, in
