others, having the control or custody of any bonds, stocks,
securities, moneys, or other valuables are hereby authorized to
deposit the same for safe keeping with said company.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That said corporation is author-
ized to take, have, hold and enjoy all such estate, real, personal
and mixed as may be obtained by the investment of its stock,
and all other moneys and funds that may come into its posses-
sion in the course of business and the same to sell, grant,
mortgage, lease and dispose of at pleasure, and to execute,
acknowledge and deliver all deeds or other instruments of writ-
ing concerning the same.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That said company shall have
power to guarantee, endorse and secure the payment and
punctual performance, and collection of notes, debts, bills of
exchange, contracts, bonds, accounts, claims, rents, annuities,
mortgages or other evidence of debt, certificates of property or
value and titles' to property, indebtedness of individuals, of
companies, partnerships, contracts, loans of States, cities, coun-
ties and municipalities on such terms and for such commis-
sions as may be agreed upon or established by said company
and the parties dealing therewith.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted. That the president, vice-presi-
dents and directors of said corporation hereby created shall
have power to enact and adopt such rules and regulations, and
by-laws for the government and management of the affairs of
said corporation as they shall deem advantageous to the in-
terest thereof; provided, the same be not contrary to the law
of the land.
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 390.
AN ACT to authorize and empower Mary W. F. Speers to con-
struct and keep in repair a bridge over Mill Creek, a tribu-
tary of the Magothy river, in Third Election District of Anne
Arundel county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Mary W. F. Speers be and she is authorized and em-
powered to construct and keep in repair a free bridge for the
passage of carts, wagons and other vehicles, foot passengers
and the general convenience of travel, over the southeast fork
of Dividing Creek, commonly called Mill Creek, a tributary of
