1418 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

sent to it by any person or persons whomsoever, bodies cor-
porate or public, or by any court in the State of Maryland or in
any one of the United States; and to accept the office and
appointment of executor or administrator of any kind or nature
whenever such office or appointment is conferred or made by
any person or persons, or by any Orphans' Court or other
court, either of this State or any of the United States; and in
all cases in which application shall be made to any court of
this State for the appointment of any receiver, trustee, execu-
tor, administrator, assignee, guardian or committee, it shall
be lawful for such court, if it shall think fit, to appoint the said
company, with its consent, such receiver, trustee, executor, ad-
ministrator, assignee, guardian or committee; and the accounts
of said company as such receiver, trustee, executor, adminis-
trator, assignee, guardian or committee shall be regularly set-
tled before the tribunal making such appointment or having
jurisdiction, and upon such settlement all proper, legal and
customary charges, costs and expenses shall be allowed the
said company for its care and management of the trusts and
estates aforesaid; and the said company as such receiver,
trustee, executor, administrator, assignee, guardian or com-
mittee, shall be subject to all orders or decrees of the proper
tribunal in the premises under the laws of the State wherein
such tribunal shall or may exercise its jurisdiction; and when
any court shall appoint said company as receiver, trustee,
executor, administrator, assignee, guardian or committee, or
shall order the deposit of money or other valuables of any kind
with said company, or whenever said company shall act in any
such capacity, the capital stock of said company shall be taken
and considered as the security required by law for the faithful
performance of any duty imposed upon it by any order or
decree of such court, unless the said court shall deem proper
to require further security; and the said corporation shall be
absolutely liable in case of any default in the performance of
any duty imposed upon it as above provided; provided, how-
ever, that said company shall be subject to the provisions of the
laws of the State of Maryland, and the liabilities of the stock-
holders shall at all times be determined by the laws of the State
in force at the time the said liabilities may attach.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That any court, into which moneys
may be paid or deposited by agreement of parties, or by order,
judgment or decree of such court, may order and direct the
same to be deposited with said company; and any individual,
executor, administrator, guardian, committee, receiver, as-
signee, trustee, State, county or municipal government or cor-
poration or public officer, or any person or persons acting for
