shall cause fourteen feet thereof, or any greater portion or
width they may determine, to be made an artificial road of
stone or gravel.
13. The said company having completed said road, and the
same being examined, approved and licensed in the manner
aforesaid, it shall be lawful for them to appoint such and so
many toll gatherers as they may think proper, to collect and re-
ceive of or from any person or persons using said road, the
tolls and rates per mile. The same to be regulated by the presi-
dent and managers of said company; provided, that the rates
and tolls so regulated shall not exceed those of other roads
of like nature in this State, and to stop any person riding,
leading or driving any horses, mules, oxen, coaches, cart,
wagon, sled, cattle, hogs, sheep, sulky, chaise, phaeton or other
carriage of pleasure or burden, traction engine, thresher, huller.
shredder, corn sheller, automobile or locomobile with elec-
tric, steam, gasoline or any other character of power from using
said road until the tolls for its use shall have been paid.
18. The said company shall not demand or receive toll from
any person or persons using said road while in a funeral pro-
cession.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 375.
AN ACT to refund to certain collectors of State taxes herein
mentioned moneys erroneously paid by them into the State
Treasury.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treas-
urer of this State in favor of the following collectors of State
taxes for moneys erroneously paid by them into the State
Treasury, the same having received the recommendation of the
treasury officials, viz: Charles L. Marsh, collector Calvert coun-
ty for year 1905, three dollars and fifty-three cents; Charles
H. Whitby, collector Caroline county for year 1905, ninety-
nine dollars and forty-three cents; Joseph L. Franklin, collec-
tor seventh district Carroll county, for year 1905, thirty-three
dollars and eighty-one cents; George M. Woodburn, collector
fourth district Charles county for year 1904, sixty-two dollars
and fifty-nine cents; James J. Gough, collector St. Mary's
