transportation of persons or goods to and from the grounds of
this organization, or with reference to any other matter or
thing pertaining to the management, control or interests and
purposes of the said corporation, including the power to make,
through the board of directors, an annual uniform assessment
upon the lots and improvements thereon embraced within the
grounds of the said corporation, and enforce the collection of
the same for the purpose of meeting the legitimate expenses of
the corporation and improving the grounds and keeping the
same in order.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the objects and purposes of
said corporation are to hold annual sessions of an interstate
summer bible school, a religious assembly and other meetings
of a spiritual, moral and educational character, and to that
end purchase and hold lands and other property; to erect
thereon suitable buildings for the accommodation of audiences
and for their care and entertainment; to erect tenements and
houses; to. make provision for supplying water, light and sew-
erage and generally to manage, improve, lease or dispose of
such lands, and to do any manner of thing that said corpora-
tion may deem necessary or proper and not inconsistent with
the laws of the State of Maryland.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said capital stock of
the said corporation is hereby fixed at ten thousand dollars,
divided into four hundred shares of twenty-five dollars each;
that any portion of surplus funds remaining to the corporation
after defraying all necessary expenses thereof for purchase of
lands, costs of all improvements, and care of the property,
and after the stockholders shall have received dividends not
exceeding six per cent, per annum on the amount actually
paid in on their stock, shall be securely invested by the board
of directors for the subsequent care and improvement of the
premises, and to defray as for as possible the expenses of the
school, assembly and other similar gatherings.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That Edwin D. Baily, Thomas T.
Tagg, J. McLain Brown, Geo. W. Wheeler, Henry D. Gordon,
Joshua S. Meushaw, Charles W. Simpson, Robert J. Bateman.
Thomas H. Gibson, J. Elmer Lacey, James W. Frizzell, Arthur
Nelson, Sigel Brown, George W. Havell and James B. Clayton
shall constitute the board of directors of said corporation, and
shall hold their office until the second Monday in January,
1909, and until their successors shall have been duly elected;
and that said board of directors and their successors shall
manage the affairs of the said corporation.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the stockholders of the said
corporation, or their proxies, at their annual meeting, which
