PRIVATE ACTS. 1233

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this Act it shall not
be necessary for the board of directors of the Baltimore Equit-
able Society for Insuring Houses from Loss by Fire, whose
charter is contained in the Act of the General Assembly of
Maryland of seventeen hundred and ninety-four, chapter thirty-
nine, and the several Acts supplementary thereto and amenda-
tory thereof, to meet more than once in every six months; and
in case any director shall fail to attend two regular successive
meetings of the board of directors, then and in such case the
same action may be taken as is provided to be taken by section
twenty-five of said Act of the General Assembly of Maryland of
seventeen hundred and ninety-four, chapter thirty-nine, in case
a director "shall for the space of two calendar months wilfully
omit or neglect to attend to the affairs and business of the
society,"

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That, in addition to the
powers now possessed by the said Baltimore Equitable Society
for Insuring Houses from Loss by Fire, the said corporation is
hereby authorized to insure against loss or damage by light-
ning, and, whether fire does or does not result from said light-
ning, all such properties as said corporation is now authorized
to insure against loss or damage by fire.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said the Balti-
more Equitable Society for Insuring Houses from Loss by Fire
is hereby authorized, in addition to the character of properties
it may now acquire, to purchase, or otherwise acquire, rever-
sions in fee in lots of ground and in lots of ground and the im-
provements thereon, and the ground rents incident thereto,
and other real estate.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 184.

AN ACT to incorporate the Motor Car Racing Association of
Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That James Young, Thomas A. Robinson, Edward A. Cas-
sidy, Thomas G. Young and Frank Cassidy, all of the city of
Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, and all other persons who
shall hereafter become stockholders in the company hereby in-
corporated, shall be a body corporate by the name of the Motor
Car Racing Association of Maryland, and by that name shall
