1232 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 176.

AN ACT to amend the charter and extend the powers of the
Frederick County Telephone and Telegraph Company, a cor-
poration formed under article 23 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, entitled "Corporations;"' the said
charter being recorded in the records of corporations of
Frederick county, in Liber No. 2, folio 401, and the amend-
ments thereto, chapter 358, Acts of 1900, by adding two
articles to said charter.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the charter of the Frederick County Telephone and
Telegraph Company, a corporation formed under article 23 of
the Code of Public General Laws of the State of Maryland, en-
titled "Corporations," and which is recorded in one of the
records of corporations of Frederick county, in Liber No. 2,
folio 401, and the amendments thereto by chapter 358 of the
Acts of 1900, be and the same is hereby amended by adding to
the same two articles, to be known as articles 9 and 10, as
follows:

Article 9. That the directors of the Frederick County Tele-
phone and Telegraph Company be and they are hereby author-
ized to issue and sell from time to time, in their discretion, the
mortgage bonds of this company to an amount not exceeding
fifty thousand dollars, or so much thereof as they may deem
proper, for the improvement, equipment and extension of their
'telephone lines and business; to pay off the outstanding bonds
of the company and any other subsisting debts, and to execute
a mortgage to secure the payment of said bonds and the in-
terest thereon upon all the property rights, franchise, tolls and
revenues of said company.

Article 10. That said bonds shall bear interest at such rate,
be payable at such times and in such denominations as the
board of directors of this company may determine.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 1, 1908.

CHAPTER 183.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Baltimore Equitable
Society for Insuring Houses from Loss by Fire, as contained
in the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland of seventeen
. hundred and ninety-four, chapter thirty-nine, and the several
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland supplementary
thereto and amendatory thereof.
