PRIVATE ACTS. 1217

Martha P. Baily, Jane E. White, Christiana Bond, Sarah M.
Carey, Helen Green Baldwin, Margaret T. Carey, Isabel Duer,
Salome L. Hopper, Mary D. Hurd, M. Nellie Knabe, Ella
Ober Levering, Caroline Maccoun, Jean F. Perkins, Emily
Packard, Ellen H. Perot, Mary E. B. Purness, Louisa H. Riach,
Mary M. Robinson, Annie H. Rolands, Emily B. Steuart, Emma
N. Warfield, Elizabeth L. B. Winslow, Lucy Chase Woods,
Elizabeth J. Wylie, Mary E. Stickney shall constitute the
board of managers of the association, to serve until the next
annual election.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the board of mana-
gers shall be elected annually by the active members of the
association, or by the members of the board, as the by-laws
may provide, and said election shall be held at such time and
in such manner as is set forth in said by-laws. The associa-
tion may by its by-laws prescribe the qualifications of its
managers not inconsistent with the provisions of this charter.
All vacancies in the board of managers shall be filled by
said board until the next annual election.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the said "The Young
Women's Christian Association of Baltimore City" shall con-
duct its. operations in this State, and shall have power to es-
tablish branches for like purpose under its direction and con-
trol, and shall have perpetual existence, and shall have power
to receive subscriptions, donations, devises and bequests of
money, or real or leasehold property or personal property,
in trust or otherwise, and of purchasing or otherwise acquir-
ing real, leasehold or personal property for the objects of its
incorporation. And that a copy of the resolutions of accept-
ance of the provisions of this Act, attested under the corporate
seal of the corporation, shall be lodged with the Secretary of
State within sixty days after the passage hereof, and a copy
of the same, duly attested by the Secretary of State, shall
be evidence in all courts of law of the acceptance of this Act.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
