1206 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

and amend the charter of 'The Talbot Savings Bank of Easton,
Maryland,'" be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments so as to read as follows:

SEC. 9. That the said "The Talbot Bank of Easton, Mary-
land," shall have power to borrow money and pay interest
thereon, not exceeding the legal rate; receive money on deposit
on such conditions and subject to such regulations as the
board of directors of the bank may prescribe; to lend money
on promissory notes or other evidences of indebtedness, includ-
ing mortgages on real or personal property; to buy and dis-
count bills of exchange, bonds, promissory notes and other
negotiable instruments, and also public and private obli-
gations of every description; to purchase and hold or sell real
and personal estate and property; and in every form and
manner to do and transact a general banking business
provided, however, that said company shall be subject to the
provisions of article 11 of the Public General Laws of this
State, title ''Banks," and any amendments thereof, and the
liability of the stockholders thereof shall at all times be
determined by the laws of the State in force at the time the
said liabilities may attach.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 72.

AN ACT to extend the privileges, enlarge the powers, amend
and ratify the charter of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company
of Berlin, Maryland.

Whereas the "Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company of Berlin,
Maryland," in Worcester county, in the State of Maryland,
was duly incorporated on the thirteenth day of December,
in the year nineteen hundred and seven, as a savings institu-
tion, under the provisions of the General Laws of this State
in relation to the creation and regulation of incorporated com-
panies in the State of Maryland, with a capital stock of fifty
thousand dollars, divided into five hundred shares, with the
privilege of increasing its capital stock at any time by the
sharehblders according to the provisions of law, and is de-
sirous of extending the privileges and enlarging the powers
of the said corporation, as will appear by certificate dated
the thirteenth day of December, in the year nineteen hundred
and seven, and recorded in the Incorporation Records of Wor-
