PRIVATE ACTS. 1197

see fit, to be members of the said corporation, and in like man-
ner thenceforth the members of the said corporation shall con-
tinue to fill all vacancies in the membership of the said corpo-
ration. If the said Grove Presbyterian Church, in Harford
county, Maryland, has ceased to exist and though it be still in
existence, so long as there shall be no adult male members in
full communion with the same, who shall consent to serve as
members of the said corporation, but if at any time while the
said church is still in existence, there shall again be adult male
members in full communion with the same, who shall consent
to serve as members of the said corporation, then on and after
the next regular day set, as provided in section 4 of this Act
for .the annual election of the members of the said corporation,
the members of the said corporation shall again be chosen from
among such adult male members of the Grove Presbyterian
Church, in Harford county, Maryland, as hereinbefore pro-
vided.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the officers of said corpora-
tion shall be a president, a vice-president, a secretary and a
treasurer, who shall annually be chosen by and from among the
members of the said corporation.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
have powers to pass all by-laws proper to carry out the powers
hereby granted and for the purposes of said cemetery, and for
the government of the same, but such by-laws shall not conflict
with law.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted. That said corporation shall have
all powers necessary to carry out the objects of this charter,
and may acquire by purchase or in any other manner, and take,
receive, hold, use, employ, manage, mortgage or dispose of in any
manner not inconsistent with law, or with the provisions of
this charter, deal with any property, real, personal or mixed,
and situate,in or out of this State, which may be necessary or
proper to enable said corporation to carry out the objects
named in this charter.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
be authorized to hold and use for the purposes of burial two
hundred acres of land and no more.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That no lanes, alleys, streets,
roads, canals or public thoroughfares of any sort shall be
opened through the property of the said corporation, which is
used or appropriated for the purpose of burial.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That every burial lot sold or con-
veyed in the cemetery of the said corporation shall be held by
the proprietors thereof for the sole purpose of sepulture and for
