to provide for the enlargement and improvement from time to
time by purchase, gift, devise, condemnation, or any other law-
ful way, of the said burying ground or cemetery; and
Whereas the said persons have applied to the General As-
sembly for an act of incorporation accordingly, and the said
Trustees of the Grove Presbyterian Church, in Harford county,
Maryland, a body corporate, are willing in the event that the
General Assembly grant the act of incorporation as applied
for, to convey to the corporation so incorporated all that lot or
parcel of ground owned by the said Trustees of the Grove Pres-
byterian Church, in Harford county, Maryland, and which is
at present used for the purposes of a cemetery or burying
ground, saving and excepting only such portions thereof as are
at present occupied by the church buildings, and it seems fit to
the General Assembly to aid in the objects of said persons, and
the object of said incorporation can not be obtained by general
laws; therefor,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted 'by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That George K. McGaw, Jarrett T. Baldwin, John Archer
Mitchell, John M. Michael, Morgan Mitchell, C. H. Johnson
and Howard H. Mitchell, and their successors, as hereinafter
provided, be and are hereby incorporated and made a body
politic and corporate, by the name of the Trustees of the Grove
Presbyterian Church, in Harford county, Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
have succession by its corporate name forever with perpetual
continuance of the powers herein granted; subject, however,
and only, to the constitutional right of amendment and repeal,
that it may sue and be sued, complain and defend in any court
of law or equity, and that it may make and use a common seal
and alter the same at pleasure.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the members of the said cor-
poration shall at no time be more in number than seven; that
the said George K. McGaw, Jarrett T. Baldwin, John Archer
Mitchell, John M. Michael, Morgan Mitchell, C. H. Johnson
and Howard H. Mitchell shall be and remain members of the
said corporation for the space of one year from the passage of
this Act and until their successors, as hereinafter provided,
shall be chosen.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the members of the corpora-
tion above named shall as soon as practicable after the passage
of this Act, hold a meeting for the acceptance of this charter
and for an election of officers as hereinafter provided, and
shall appoint a day for an election of the members of this cor-
poration, as hereinafter provided; said election to be held not
