tion of Frederick, Maryland, a body corporate under the laws
of the State of Maryland, be and it is hereby amended to the
end that the concerns of the said corporation shall from hence-
forth be managed by thirty-six directors instead of twelve di-
rectors as provided in the said original charter.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 36.
AN ACT to incorporate the United Hebrew Charities of Balti-
more.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Jacob Epstein, Michael S. Levy, Tanchurn Silber-
man, Israel Levenstein, Paul S. Levy, Mayer L. Bloom, Solo-
mon Ginsberg, Joseph Lubin, Samuel M. Singer, Lewis Putzel,
Ephraim Macht, Max Cohen, Gershon A. Schwartz, Adolph
Kres, Charles W. London, Jacob Rab, A. J. Sugar, Jonas
Greenblatt, Samuel Cooper, Isidor Lichtenberg, Adolph Nath-
anson, M. E. Selenkow, Louis Hurwitz, Joseph Weiner and
Max Aaronson, all of Baltimore city and State of Maryland,
and their associates and successors, be and they are hereby
created a body corporate, under and by the name and style of
"United Hebrew Charities of Baltimore," and by that name
shall have perpetual succession, and be capable to sue and be
sued, to complain and defend in any court of law or equity; to
make and adopt a constitution and by-laws for its government
and amend same at will; to make and use a common seal, and
shall have power to acquire by purchase, gift, devise, legacy,
any real or leasehold estate or personal property, and to hold,
own, use, sell, lease or dispose of the same at its pleasure, or to
mortgage or encumber the whole or any of such property in any
way and to any extent that it may desire, without individual
liability on the part of its members; and generally to do all and
singular such matters and things as may be necessary to carry
out its objects and purposes, and to exercise the powers and
privileges by this Act conferred upon it.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the object of said body cor-
porate is to provide and conduct an efficient and practical mode
of raising, collecting and distributing contributions for Jewish
charitable organizations of Baltimore, and for such other char-
itable purposes as may be provided for by the said corporation.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said body corporate shall
consist of such persons and organizations as shall, under its
