larging its corporate powers, and granting to it the powers
of condemnation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the charter of the New Conowingo Bridge Company
of Harford County, a corporation duly formed under the laws
of this State, authorizing the formation of corporations, is
hereby sanctioned, and full authority is hereby granted to said
corporation to erect, maintain and operate a bridge across the
Susquehanna river, as is set forth in its articles of incorpora-
tion, and that said company may from time to time issue, as
full paid and non-assessable, it's stock, or any increase or in-
creases thereof, in payment for lands or other property at
valuations agreed upon, and those accepting said stock, or their
successors, in the ownership or possession thereof, shall not be
or become liable to any assessment whatsoever on account
of stock so issued; and that said company may from time to
time make and issue its negotiable bonds of the denomination
and to the number by it determined, and secure the same by a
mortgage or mortgages upon all or any part of its property,
real, personal and mixed, and franchises, whether possessed at
the time of making said mortgage or mortgages, or thereafter
acquired, said bonds and mortgage or mortgages to be made
and executed in form as the directors of said company shall
prescribe, said bonds to be payable at such time, bear such
rate of interest, not exceeding six per centum per annum, and
contain such terms, conditions and provisions as the said direc-
tors shall deem meet and proper, and to be issued and disposed
of from time to time upon such terms as said directors shall
determine and as may be agreed upon, and in case of sale made
by virtue of said mortgage or mortgages, whether under fore-
closure or other judicial proceedings, or pursuant to any power
of sale contained in said mortgage or mortgages, the purchaser
or purchasers thereunder or pursuant thereto, or his or their
survivor, survivors, representatives or assigns may, together
with associates, if any, form a new corporation, in which, there-
upon, shall become vested all the powers, property and fran-
chises theretofore owned and possessed by said New Conowingo
Bridge Company, and a certificate of the formation of the said
new corporation shall be made, executed, acknowledged and
recorded as at present certificates of incorporation are directed
to be made, executed, acknowledged and recorded by article 23
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904; and
that the corporate name of the said New Conowingo Bridge
Company of Harford County be and the same is hereby changed
by omitting from said name the words "of Harford County;"
