parties who have bought the internal revenue stamp for the
business of dealing in liquors for the time covered by the
indictment shall be conclusive evidence that the accused has or
have in possession the internal revenue stamp for the business
of dealing in liquor.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That one-half of all fines
imposed for the violation of the provisions of this Act shall
be paid to the informer and the balance shall be applied to the
public schools of the county.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 674.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 215D
of article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Worcester County," sub-title "Pocomoke."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 215D of article 24 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Worcester County," sub-title
"Pocomoke," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:

SEC. 215D. The year for repairing the streets, lanes, alleys
and thoroughfares of said town shall be reckoned from the first
day of May, inclusive, in one year, to the first day of May, ex-
clusive, in the next year. Every male person above the age
of twenty-one years who shall reside in said town for four
months or more before the first day of May in any year shall
be bound to work on the streets, lanes, alleys and thorough-
fares of said town for one day during the year beginning on
the said first day of May as the year is above defined; and if
any person who is liable to render such work fails to attend
as directed by written notice from the policeman or who ap-
pears to such notice but fails or refuses to work or render ser-
vices as by the person or persons supervising the work he is
required and directed, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
on conviction thereof before any justice of the peace for Wor-
cester county, or in the Circuit Court for said county, such per-
son shall be fined two dollars and shall be adjudged to pay all
the costs of prosecution and shall stand committed to the
county jail until such fine and costs are paid. During the
month of April in each year it shall be the duty of the town
clerk to make out a list of all persons who, on the first day
of the next May, will have resided in the town for at least four
