to determine said question in Salisbury election district No. 9
and Delmar election district No. 11 of said county, and to add
an additional section, to be called section 18, prohibiting the
sale of liquors in certain other districts of said county, also
to repeal chapter 195 of the Acts of 1896 of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, being local laws affecting the sale of intoxi-
cating liquors in Wicomico county of Maryland, be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That it shall not be lawful
to manufacture or to sell intoxicating liquor in any quantity
whatever, not to grant or issue, or cause to be granted or issued,
any license to sell intoxicating liquor in any quantity whatever
within the limits of Wicomico county.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That whoever shall, by
himself or another, either as principal, clerk or servant, di-
rectly or indirectly, sell, barter or exchange any intoxicating
liquor in any quantity whatever within Wicomico county, or
keep or have in his possession any intoxicating liquor with
intent to sell or otherwise dispose of same in violation of
the provisions of this Act, shall, upon conviction thereof, be
fined not less than fifty (50) dollars nor more than two hun-
dred (200) dollars, or imprisonment in the county jail or
House of Correction for not less than three months nor more
than six months, or be both so fined and imprisoned, in the
discretion of the court. If any person shall be convicted
of violating any provision of this Act, and shall subsequently
violate any provision of this Act, he shall, upon conviction
thereof, be fined not less than one hundred dollars nor more
than five hundred dollars, and imprisoned in the county jail
or House of Correction for not less than six months nor more
than one year. A certified transcript from the docket of any
justice of the peace, or a certified copy of the record, under
seal, of the clerk of any court shall be sufficient evidence of a
previous conviction or convictions under any section of this
Act.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the giving away,
delivery or handling of any intoxicating liquor by any store-
keeper, or at any place of business, or the taking or solicit-
ing of orders, or the making of agreements by any person at
or within the said county of Wicomico for the sale or delivery
or future giving away of any intoxicating liquor, or any other
shift or device to evade any provision of this Act, shall be
held to be an unlawful selling.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That all places where in-
toxicating liquor is sold in violation of any provision of this
