west two hundred and twenty-nine and two-fifths perches to a
stone, for the northwest corner; thence south two hundred
perches to a stone, for the southwest corner; thence east two.
hundred and forty-eight and three-fifths perches to a stone,
for the southeast corner; thence north one hundred and eigh-
teen perches to a stone; thence north thirteen and one-half
degrees west, eighty-four perches to a stone at the northeast
corner of the town extended as per plat and survey of lines
for the extension of the said town, made by James M. Tharp,
surveyor, the 26th day of January, 1880, as recorded in Liber
J. F. T. No. 89, folio 285, one of the land record books of Talbot
county.
45. All elections shall be by ballot, and every male citizen
of the age of twenty-one years or upwards who is a citizen of
the United States and who has been a bona fide resident of the
town for one year next preceding the election, and whose name
shall appear upon the list of registered voters of the town,
as hereinafter provided, shall be entitled to vote at all elections
hereafter to be held, but no person who has been convicted of
larceny or other infamous crime, unless pardoned by the Gov-
ernor, shall ever be entitled to vote at any town election, and
no person under guardianship as a lunatic or as a person non
compos mentis shall be entitled to vote. The qualified voters
shall, on the first Monday in May in the year 1908, and every
two years thereafter, at the engine house in said town, or such
other place or places as the Mayor and Council shall desig-
nate, elect a Mayor to serve for two years, and until the quali-
fication of his successor; and the said qualified voters shall, on
the first Monday in May in the year 1908, at the same time and
place, elect five members of the Council to serve without pay,
for two years, and until the qualification of their successors,
one of whom shall be chosen at large and shall be president of
the Council, the other four to be elected, one from each of the
four wards.
51. After the time has expired for presenting nominations,
the town clerk shall prepare the official ballot, and shall cause
to be printed thereon in a single vertical column, without de-
vice of any kind, the names of the nominees for the respective
offices to be filled, and he shall cause the names of the candi-
dates for the same office to be grouped together. The official
ballot shall be of opaque, plain white paper, not less than
four and not more than five inches in width and of sufficient
length to admit the names of all the nominees, and the name of
any person npt legally nominated shall not be counted, and the
ballot shall be printed as near as may be like the following
sample, date and names to be changed.
