non, Deal's Island, Tangier and Dames Quarter election dis-
tricts; the third, of Brinkleys, Lawsons, Crisfleld, Asbury and
Smith's Island election districts.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect on
the thirtieth day of April, 1908, but nothing herein shall be con-
strued to impair or impede any proceedings already taken or to
be taken in the collection of taxes in Somerset county under
existing laws.

CHAPTER 443.
AN ACT to repeal sections 227 to 237, both inclusive, of article
20 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County,"
sub-title "Roads," sections 1 and 2 of article 25 of the Code of
Public General Laws of 1904, title "County Commissioners,"
and all other laws, so far as said sections and laws may be
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 227 to 237, both inclusive, of article 20 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-
title "Roads," and sections 1 and 2 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of 1904, article 25, title "County Commissioners,"
and all other laws, so far as the said sections and laws may be
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and the 'same
are hereby repealed, and that the following sections be en-
acted in lieu thereof, as sections of article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Roads."
227. The County Commissioners of Somerset county are au-
thorized and empowered to control and regulate the public
roads and bridges in said county, subject to the provisions of
this Act.
228. The County Commissioners of Somerset county shall,
at the time of making their annual levy, levy upon the taxable
property of said county a tax not less than twenty cents on the
one hundred dollars, which shall be used for the repair and re-
construction of public roads and bridges in said county, which
taxes shall be levied and collected as other.taxes. The County
Commissioners may levy and appropriate such other sum or
sums of money as they may deem requisite for the building of
