said Annapolis public school for the year ending July 31, 1898;
and to Lena Strohm, the sum of four hundred dollars, for her
services as teacher in the said Annapolis public school for the
year ending July 31, 1898.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the board of school trustees of the Annapolis public school
and of the Board of County School Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County to -establish and maintain, in addition to a
primary and grammar school, a high school in the city of
Annapolis, to which high school any white child in Anne
Arundel county shall be eligible, who has passed the required
examinations for admission thereto, as prescribed by said board
of school trustees and approved by said Board of County
School Commissioners of Anne Arundel County.

SEC. 19. And he it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
and provisions of the Code of Public General Laws or Public
Local Laws, inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be
and the same are hereby repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 20. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 373.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more to sell securities in the General Sinking Fund to provide
funds for the redemption of the following loans : City Hall
six per cent, loan, maturing March 15, 1900; Jones' Falls
six per cent, loan, maturing April 9, 1900 ; Joues' Falls five
per cent, loan, maturing April 9, 1900 ; Jones' Falls three
and sixty-five hundred ths per cent, loan, maturing April 9,
1900 ; Jones' Falls three and one-half per cent, loan, matur-
ing April 9, 1900 ; Jones' Falls three per cent, loan, matur-
ing April 9, 1900 ; Funding six per cent, loan, maturing
July 1, 1900; and to authorize the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore to issue stock to an amount not exceeding four
million three hundred thousand dollars for the renewal and
extension of said loans.

WHEREAS, There will mature at various times from March
15, 1900, to July 1, 1900, both inclusive, various loans hereto-
fore issued by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, amount-
