CHAPTER 248.
AN ACT authorizing and directing the County Commissioners
of Washington County in their discretion to levy and collect
annually in perpetuity a sum of money in aid of the main-
tenance of a free library to be established in the town of
Hagerstown, in said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Washington
county be and they are hereby authorized and directed in their
discretion to enter into a contract with The Washington
County Free Library, whereby they shall contract to contribute
annually in perpetuity the sum of fifteen hundred dollars per
annum for the care and maintenance of the said, The Washing-
ton County Free Library.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of carrying

of the foregoing section, that the said County Commissioners

perpetuity, on the assessable property of said county, a sum of

said County Commissioners of Washington county, under the
provisions of the foregoing section.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 249.

AN ACT to authorize the legal and qualified voters of Poco-
moke City, in Worcester County, State of Maryland, to
decide by ballot whether or not town qpupon bonds, not
exceeding the amount of thirty thousand dollars, shall be
issued by said town for the purpose of providing a water
supply, sewerage system and electric lights for said town.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
