SEC. 2. And be it en acted, That the fourth election district

717

of said county be and the same hereby is divided into two vot-
ing precincts, to be known as the ''First" and "Second" elec-
tion precinct of the fourth election district of said county,
The division line between the said precincts shall be the Annap-
olis, Washington and Baltimore Railroad, and all that portion
of the fourth election district lying south of said railroad shall
be known as the "First Precinct," and that portion lying north
of said railroad shall be known as the "Second Precinct." The
voting or polling place of the first precinct shall be the house
now used as a polling house in the fourth election district. The
voting or polling place of the second precinct, shall be selected
by the Board of Supervisors of Election of Anne Arundel
county, and shall be in the territory embraced in the said sec-
ond precinct, and not more than one-half mile from the village
of Odenton.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Board of Super
visors of Election shall make known the boundaries of said

precincts, when so determined and established by them, by
advertisement in one or more newspapers of said county, once
a week for two successive weeks before the first day of July in
the year eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, shall appoint
judges and clerks for each such voting precinct, shall notify
the persons so appointed, shall give notice of the names of such
judges and clerks, shall appoint the places of registration and
polling places of said precincts shall give notice of the times
and places for a new registration in said precincts and of the
times of revision thereof, shall provide the necessary registra-
tion books, ballot-boxes, polling rooms and other necessary
equipment as directed by Article thirty-three of the Code of
Public General Laws, title elections, in regard to a new regis-
tration, and shall in all other respects follow the provisions of
the said article, so that elections may be, as they are hereby
directed to be, held hereafter in the new precincts hereby
authorized and directed to be established as heretofore in other
election districts and precincts of said county ; provided, how-
ever, that in the judgment of said Board of Election Super
visors a new registration can be safely dispensed with in said
fourth election district, but in their judgment the registered
vote properly belonging to the said respective precincts of said
fourth election district can be allotted to and entered by the
registers thereof, upon the new registration books thereof,
respectively, properly and with certainty ; then in that event,
the said supervisors shall not order a new registration in the
