provided, however, that he may, previous to that time, procure
from the County Commissioners an order stating the amount
of such levy ; and the treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to receive said orders, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, in payment of taxes due under the levy upon which
such order is issued.
262 N. The County Commissioners of Harford county shall

annually levy such sum of money as they may deem sufficient
to pay the expenses which may be incurred during the then
succeeding year by the attendance of jurors, State's witnesses,
crier and bailiff of the circuit court, together with any expen-
ses of said court which they may be required to pay ; ?nd it
shall be the duty of the treasurer to pay the said expenses to
the individuals entitled to receive the same whenever the
amounts so payable shall be duly certified to him by said court,
and upon his failure to pay any such sum when so certified, to
the person entitled to receive the same, the said treasurer shall
forfeit and pay to every such person for every such failure the
sum of one dollar, to be recovered as other small sums are
recovered before a justice of the peace, together with the costs
of suit. The said court shall not issue to the individuals
entitled to receive any of the expenses aforesaid any evidence
that such sums are due, but the same shall be certified directly
to the said treasurer, and the said treasurer before paying the
same shall deduct from the respective amounts duo as afore-
said any sum or sums of money due and owing by the said
individual to the said county for taxes or otherwise.

tember of the year in which they are levied, shall bear interest
from said date at the rate of six percentum per annum, and at
any time after the first day of January next succeeding the
date of the levy, and not before, payment may be enforced by
sale, as herein provided. On all taxes paid after the levy, and
before the first day of September in any year, a discount shall
be allowed at the rate of one half per centum per month.

262 P. The said treasurer shall pay to the treasurer of the
Board of County School Commissioners all money levied for
the support of the public schools of said county at the times
and in the manner prescribed by the laws of this State.

262 Q. The said treasurer shall pay over the State taxes by
him from time to time collected, as required by the laws of
this State, less a commission of two per centum to the said
