authorized and empowered to transcribe into the books of regis-
tration of voters for said new election district all qualified
voters within the boundaries thereof who may have been here-
tofore registered in the said respective election districts out of
which said new election district has been formed.

Effective.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 204.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 257, 258, 259, 260, 261 and 262
of Article thirteen of the Code of Public Local Laws of the
State of Maryland, title "Harford Court," sub-title "Taxes,"
said Section 259 having been amended and re-enacted by
the Acts of 1894, chapter 471, and in lieu of said sections to
enact certain new sections under the new sub-title "Taxes
and County Treasurer," said new sections to be known as
Sections 257, 258, 259, 260,261, 262 and 262 A, 262B, 262 O,
262 D, 262 E, 262 F, 262 G, 262 H, 262 I, 262 J, 262 K, 262 L,
262 M, 262 N, 262 O, 262 p, 262 Q, 262 R, 262 S, 262 T, 262 V,
262 X, 262 T and 262 Z.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 257, 258, 259, 260, 261 and 202 of Article

thirteen of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State of
Maryland, title "Harford County," sub title "Taxes," said sec-
tion 259 having been amended and re-enacted by the Acts of
1894, chapter 471, be and the same are hereby repealed, and in
lieu thereof the following new sections under the new sub-title
"Taxes and County Treasurer" are enacted, to be known as
sections 257, 258, 259, 260, 261, 262, and 262 A, 262 B,
262 C, 262 D, 262 E, 262 F, 262 G, 262 H, 262 I, 262 J, 262 K,

appointed.

257. The Governor of this State shall on or before the first
day of May, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-eight,
appoint a competent person, skilled in accounts, a resident and
qualified voter of Harford county, and not less than twenty-
five years of age to be treasurer of said county, who shall bold
said office until the first day of May, in the year nineteen hun-
dred, and until his successor is elected and qualified or
appointed as hereinafter provided.
