CHAPTER 201.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of Supervisors of
Harford County to divide the election districts of said
county into voting precincts.
SECTION 1. B e it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Supervisors of Election for Harford

tion to divide the election districts of said county into such elec-
tion precincts as in their judgment will best promote the conveni-
ence of the voters in the said election districts, and in making
such division they shall so divide the said election districts that
the voting population of the said precincts shall as near as
practical be of an average equal voting population in each of
said precincts ; provided, that nothing herein contained shall
authorize and empower the said election supervisors to change
the boundaries and lines of the fifth and sixth election districts
of said county, but the said fifth and sixth election districts
shall be and remain in all respects as they are now defined by
law.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Board of Supervi-
sors of Elections shall make known the boundaries of such

by them, by publication in one or more newspapers published
in said county, once a week for two successive weeks before the
first day of July, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, they shall
appoint judges and clerks of election for each of such voting
precincts in the same manner and at the same time as they are
now required by law to make similar appointments for other
precincts and districts now established shall notify the person
so appointed, and shall locate and designate the places for regis-
tration and voting or holding elections in said precincts; they
shall provide for a new registration therein, and bhall also pro-
vide for a new registration in such precincts as such new pre-
cincts shall have been framed out of, and shall in all other
