CHAPTER 186.
AN ACT to repeal Section fifty-nine of Article twenty-two
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled
"Washington County," sub-title "Circuit Court," and to re-
enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Washing-
ton County," sub-title "Circuit Court," be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows :
59. The regular law term of the Circuit Court for Washing-
ton County shall commence on the "second Monday of Feb-
ruary," the "second Monday of May" and the "second Mon-
day in November" in each and every year ; and to each of

said terms "juries" shall be summoned and returned in the
mode and manner prescribed by law. There shall also be a
term of said court beginning on the "first Monday of August"
of each year, to which no jurors shall be summoned, but to
which process shall be returnable for the entering of judg-
ments in uncontested cases, the transaction of any business not
requiring the presence of a jury, and in the trial of any case
in said court, or either the law or equity side thereof, the judges
or judge presiding shall have the power and authority to
employ a stenographer or short hand reporter to take down
the proceedings, including the testimony and opinion of the
court, and the County Commissioners shall levy such compen-
sation for the services of such stenographer or short hand
reporter as the judge thereof shall approve of.

CHAPTER 187.
AN ACT to refund to James H. Lockerman, late Collector
of State and County Taxes for Worcester County for the
years 1890 and 1891, the sum of thirty-seven dollars and
twenty-one cents ($37.21) erroneously paid into the State
Treasury.
