county taxes ; and it is hereby enacted, that the provisions of
Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws, title " Revenue
and Taxes," sub-title " Sales by Collectors," shall apply to the
town of Easton, and the Commissioners of Easton are hereby
vested with the same powers that are vested in the County
Commissioners of the several counties and the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore city by section fifty-four of said article.

Bailiff
appointed.
|
69. The said Commissioners shall on the first Monday in May,
annually, appoint a bailiff (who shall act as clerk of the market)
and from time to time, in their discretion, other bailiffs. Any
of said bailiffs shall be eligible to the office of collector of town
taxes, and they shall have powers conferred on the bailiff in
section seventy-one of this article, and their duties shall be
such as the said Commissioners may from time to time pre-
scribe.

death, etc.

74. If any of the officers mentioned in the preceding section
shall die, resign, refuse to act, or fail to give bond within ten
days after appointment, a Commissioner shall appoint another
in his place, and so on after every interval of ten days until an
officer shall qualify.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 150.
AN ACT to provide for the construction, establishment and
maintenance of water works and sewers in Hyattsville.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That at the election to be held in the town of Hyatts-
ville, in Prince George's county, Maryland, on the first Mon-
day in May in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, for
Commissioners for said town, that the question whether or not
said town shall issue coupon bonds to the amount of twenty-
five thousand dollars for the purpose of providing a proper
water supply for said town shall be and is hereby directed to
be submitted to the legal and qualified voters of said town ;
and it shall be the duty of the Commissioners of the town of
Hyattsville to give public notice of the intent of this Act in
such manner and at such time previous to the election as they
may deem necessary.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the election provided for
in section one thereof shall be held in the same manner and
