indexes shall be restored, and that all the indexes shall be
arranged uniformly upon the modern system, as now used in
the said office fur the current work.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be the duty of the clerk of the (Superior

new indexes of all land records and conveyances in his keeping
between the years 1864 and 1880, and rearrange them in
accordance with the modern system, as now used in the said

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of

tion of this Act, the clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore
city shall apply the surplus revenue of his office for the years
1898 and 1899, or so much thereof as may be necessary.

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 148.
AN ACT to incorporate the Westminster Deposit and Trust
Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That Edward E. Rinedollar, David E. Stem, John
McDonald, J. Oliver Murray, J. Howell Billingslea, H.
Stewart Roberts and Charles E. Fink and their associates and
successors, and all such other persons as shall hereafter become
stockholders in the company hereby incorporated, shall be and
they are hereby constituted a body politic and corporate, by
the name and style of the Westminster Deposit and Trust
Company, and by that name be capable in law to acquire and
hold, and in anywise dispose of property, and to sue and be
sued, plead and be impleaded in any court whatever, to make
and use a common seal, and to alter the same at pleasure, and
generally to do everything proper to carry into effect the pro-
visions of this Act or to promote the objects and designs of the
company hereby incorporated.

Location.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the principal office of said
corporation shall be located in Carroll county, State of Mary-
land.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of said
company shall consist of live hundred shares at one hundred
