Application
to be filed.

district of Prince George's county included within the cor-
porate limits of the town of Laurel, shall file an application in
writing with the clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
county, in which shall be stated, first, his, her, their or its
name and that he, she or they are residents of the tenth elec-
tion district of Prince George's county, and of that part of
said district included within the corporate limits of said town ;
second, that he, she or they are citizens of the United States
and have been for twelve months next preceding the filing of
such application bona fide residents of the State of Maryland,
and for at least six months preceding the tiling of such appli-
cation are bona fide residents of the town of Laural ; third,
that the applicant is not, or if the application is by a firm,
association or corporation, that none of the applicants are in
any manner pecuniarily interested in the profits of any business
conducted at any other place in the tenth election district
affected by this Act, where any spirituous or fermented liquors
are sold or kept for sale; and fourth, the particular place
where the business is to be conducted under the license sought,
specifying the same by definite designation and description ;
which said application shall be verified by the affidavit of the
applicant, made before any justice of the peace in said county,
and if any false statement is made in any part of said applica-
tion, the applicant or applicants shall be guilty of perjury and
upon indictment and conviction shall be punished accordingly,
and any license issued upon such application, shall be revoked
as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That there shall be annexed to

said application, a certificate signed by a majority of the reput-
able, bona fide residents within three hundred feet of the place
in which it is proposed to sell any spirituous or fermented
liquors in said town of Laurel, in which the persona certifying
shall state that they recommend the applicant as a suitable
person to whom such license should be issued ; and any appli-
cant for such license shall specify the particular place where
he proposes to offer said spirituous or fermented liquors for
sale.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted. That upon said application and

Prince George's County, with a certificate from the Mayor of
the town of Laurel that the facts stated in said application he
verily believes to be true and a receipt from the treasurer of
the town of Laurel for the sum of three hundred and fifty
dollars for one year, or a proportionate part thereof for any
