end of the said session, a parcel of ground where the said
church stood, not exceeding five acres, and forthwith make
return thereof to the clerk of the County Court for record,
and which said parcel of land, with the improvements thereon,
was by said Act given, granted and confirmed unto the mem-
bers of the German Reformed Church, as a religious sect or
order, and to their successors forever ; provided, the same shall
be by them improved, enjoyed and used as a house of worship
and burying ground aforesaid ; and
WHEREAS, It appears that the then surveyor of Frederick
county did make the survey and plat directed by said Act

within the time therein limited, and did forthwith make return
thereof to the clerk of the Frederick County Court, who
recorded the same in Liber W. R. No. 3, folio 83, one of the
Land Records of Frederick county, and the members of said
church have ever since enjoyed, used and occupied said lot as
a place for a house of worship and as a burying ground ; and
WHEREAS, The members of said church did on the thirty-

first day of March, A. D. 1848. become incorporated according
to law under the corporate name of The Glade Church ; and
WHEREAS, The pastor and consistory, the governing body -of
said church and the members thereof found it necessary for
the greater convenience of the members and for the promotion
of the welfare of said church to erect a new and more commo-
dious house of worship in the village of Walkersville, in said
county, about three-fourths of a mile distant from said lot, and
to that end have purchased a lot of ground in said village of

Walkersville from John H. Stouffer, containing one acre of
land, and which they desire to hold and own in, addition to said
five acres, and upon which they have erected a new church
building, which it is their wish to use as their principal place
and house of worship, and they also desire to obtain another
lot in said village for the purposes of a parsonage, and also
desire to retain and maintain said five acre lot principally for
purposes of sepulture, but it has been contended that if said
church abandons the said building erected on said five acre lot
as a house of worship the said lot will revert to the State of
Maryland under the proviso in said grant; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
