that said commissioners are hereby authorized and directed to
levy and collect on the assessable property of Anne Arun-
del county a sum not exceeding four thousand dollars, for the
erection and construction of said bridge, and the same shall be
levied for at their next levy term.

Effective.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 89.
AN ACT to repeal Section 28 of Article 12 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Garrett Coun ty," sub-
title " Circuit Court," as amended by Chapter 653 of the
Acts of 1894, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

mon law terms of the Circuit Court for Garrett county, to be

third Monday of March and the second Monday of September
each year, and the two non jury terms shall commence on the
first Monday of July and the second Monday of December in
each year, and to said jury terms jurors shall be summoned
and returned in the mode prescribed by law, and in the trial of
any cause the said court, the judges or judge presiding, shall
have the power and authority to employ a stenographer or
shorthand reporter to take down proceedings, including the
testimony for the use of 'the court, and the County Commis-
sioners shall levy such compensation of such stenographer or
shorthand reporter as the court or judge thereof shall approve
of, or the court or judge may require said compensation to be
taxed as part of the costs of the cause, and to be paid by either
or both of the parties to the cause as the court or judge may
deem equitable.
