Preamble.

of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore city, less' one
per centum commission thereon ; and

WHEREAS, Three-fourths of said amount has been paid by
the State of Maryland to the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore city, as per certificate from the Treasury officials hereto
attached ; ' therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

tion.

land, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer of the State
for the sum of three hundred and nine dollars and thirty-seven
cents in favor of C. E. Cronin, agent for the Continental Brew-
ing Company, and for three hundred and seventy-one dollars and
twenty-five cents in favor of Dennis E. Reardon, agent for
John F. Betz and Son ; and the City Register of Baltimore
city is hereby authorized to pay to C. E. Cronin, agent for the
Continental Brewing Company, the sum of nine hundred and
twenty-eight dollars and thirteen cents, and is hereby further
authorized to pay to Dennis E. Reardon, agent for John F.
Betz and Son, the sum of eleven hundred and thirteen dollars
and seventy-five cents, being three-fourths of the amount paid
by the State to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore as
before mentioned in the preamble of this Act, for the amounts
paid in excess of the amounts properly chargeable for their
licenses as retail liquor dealers for the years 1890, 1891, 1892,
1893 and 1894, and for the years 1890, 1891, 1892, 1893, 1894
and 1895, respectively.

Effective.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 14, 1898.

CHAPTER 531.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
191 to 203, both inclusive, of Article two of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title " Anne Arundel County,"
sub-title "Roads," and Chapter 378 of the Acts of 1890,
and Chapter 645 of , the Acts of 1892, and Chapter 464 of
the Acts of 1896, which amended and added new sections
to said title and sub title ; and to re-enact with amendments
the sections under said sub-title, and to add additional sec-
tions thereto, to be known respectively as Sections 191 to
203, both inclusive, and 203 A to 203 X, both inclusive of
said Article and sub-title.
