CHAPTER 523.
AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and devises
contained in the last wills and testaments of certain persons
late of the State of Maryland, deceased ; and also to certain
gifts, grants, sales, leases and deeds made by various persons
in the said State of Maryland, to and for the use and benefit
of sundry ministerial persons, religious corporations, denomi-
nations or sects, and to certain charitable institutions herein-
after named.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the sanction and consent of the General Assembly
of Maryland, be and the same is hereby declared, given and
granted to the following gifts, bequests, devises, grants, sales,
conveyances and deeds and leases to and from certain persons
and bodies corporate to and for the use and benefit of certain
ministerial persons, religious corporations, orders, denomina-
tions or sects, and to certain charitable institutions as herein-
after set forth.
First. To the bequest contained in the last will and testa-
ment of Samuel Swope, late of Taneytown, Carroll county,
Maryland, deceased, of fifteen hundred dollars to the trus-
tees "of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Taneytown,
Carroll county, Maryland, a body corporate.
Second. To three several bequests of one thousand dollars
each contained in the last will and testament of Henry Swope,
late of Carroll county, deceased, as follows : (1) One thousand
dollars to the Superannuated Fund Society of the Maryland
Annual Conference of the Methodist Protestant Church ; (2)
one thousand dollars to the Home Missionary Society of the
Maryland Annual Conference of the Methodist Protestant
Church ; and (3) one thousand dollars to the Board of Gov-
ernors of the Westminster Theological Seminary of the
Methodist Protestant Church.
Third. To certain bequests contained in the will of Mary
G. Perine, late of Baltimore city, deceased, said will bearing
date May 11, 1896, and now of record in the office of the Reg-
ister of Wills of Baltimore city, in Liber T. W. M. No. 77,
folio 1, the said legacies being as follows : (1) Of the sum of
two thousand dollars to "The Vestry of St. Paul's Parish in
Baltimore county," to be applied to the endowment fund of
said parish ; (2) of the sum of one thousand dollars to the said
