ing fund.

way as may be for the best interests of the said city, a sink-
ing fund for the purpose of paying off the principal of the
bonds authorized by this Act to be issued when the same shall
have reached their maturity, and to levy and collect all neces-
sary taxes for said purposes ; provided, the receipts from water
rents are not sufficient for these purposes.

Effective.

SEC. 6. And le it hereby further enacted^ That this Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 488.
AN ACT to amend Articles six, ten and twenty-one of the
Code of Public Local Laws, titles, respectively, " Caroline
County," " Dorchester County," and " Talbot County," sub-
title "Fish," by adding three new sections thereto, to be
designated as Section 146 A of Article six, Section 182 A of
Article ten, and Section 116 A of Article twenty-one.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

be and the same are hereby amended by adding three new sec-
tions thereto, to be designated, respectively, as sections one hun-
dred and forty-six A of Article six, one hundred and eighty-
two A of Article ten, and one hundred and sixteen A of Article
twenty one.

use haul
seines, etc.

146 A of Article six, 182 A of Article ten aud 116 A of
Article twenty-one. It shall not be lawful for any person to
keep, put or allow his, her or their haul-seines, float-seines,
fykes, pound nets, stake nets or other devices, except hook and
line, to be in or used in any of the waters of the Choptank
river or any of its tributaries between the hours of twelve noon
on each and every Saturday and sunrise on the following Mon-
day morning, and any person violating any of the provisions
of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction thereof before any justice of the peace in and
for any of said counties having jurisdiction in the premises,
shall be lined not less than tive nor more than fifty dollars for
each and every offense, or shall be subject to a forfeiture of
the seines, nets, fykes, boats and appurtenances thereto belong-
ing, or both tine and forfeiture, in the discretion of the justice ;
provided, however, that the accused shall have a right to pray
