LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

nntil the third week of the term ; the persons constituting the
grand jury shall attend at the first day of the term. And the
clerk shall publish a list of jurors in the newspaper published
in said county for two successive weeks before the commence-
ment of eacn jury term of said court. On the call of the
docket of all cases for trial, cases in which a jury trial is
desired shall be by the clerk so marked on the docket and
stand for trial at the second and third weeks of the said court ;
and all cases pending and for trial which are not so marked,
both civil and criminal, shall stand for trial the first week of
said term of court.

CHAPTER 484.
AN ACT to incorporate the Laurel Water Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the

State of Maryland, That Joseph M. Cone, Charles H. Quig-
ley, John F. Williams, J. Stewart McDonald, William H.
Minch, Wm. Milstead and P. P. Castle, and their successors,
be and they are hereby constituted a body corporate and politic,
under the name and style of the Laurel Water Company, and
by that name shall have perpetual succession.
SEO. 2. And be it enacted, That the said company, under

the above name and style, shall be capable in law to sue and
be sued, to plead and be impleaded, to answer and be answered
in any court of law of equity ; to make and use a common
seal, and to alter the same, and generally to do and perform
all such acts and make all such agreements and contracts, and
purchase, lease, hold, use and possess such lands, water rights,
powers and privileges, tenements, goods and chattels as may be
necessary for collecting streams of water, elevating, preserving,
purifying, using and distributing the same as the means of
abundantly supplying with water the public and private houses,
streets, squares, lanes, alleys and other places, and also for the
extinguishment of fires in the city of Laurel, in Prince George's
county, and also in the country surrounding said city of Laurel
in the counties of Prince George's, Howard and Anne Arundel,
to the distance of five miles west from the western limits of
said city of Laurel, two miles east from the eastern limits of
said city, two miles north, from the northern limits of said city,
and two miles south from the southern limits of said city, and
for properly disposing of said water, and such other powers as
may be necessary to carry into effect the purposes of this Act.
