Chapter 83.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Maryland
Coal Company, and authorize an increase of
its capital stock.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That the president and directors
of the Maryland Coal Company, incorporated by
the act of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight,
chapter four hundred and twenty-eight, and the
supplementary act of eighteen hundred and sev-
enty, chapter fifty, be and they are hereby au-
thorized, with the approval of a majority of the
stockholders, to increase the capital stock of said
company fifty thousand shares, and to receive
in payment therefor any property, real, per-
sonal or mixed, suitable for its corporate pur-
poses, at such valuation as may be agreed upon
by said president and directors and a majority
of said stockholders, and the party or parties
subscribing said additional shares or any part
thereof.

Increase capi-
tal stock.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 14, 1888.

Chapter 81.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
M. Tilghman Howard, late tax collector of the
first district of Anne Arundel county for the
year eighteen-hundred and eighty -three.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

directed to draw his warrant upon the treasurer
of the state in favor of M. Tilghman Howard,
collector first district of Anne Arundel county,
for the sum of thirty-two dollars and nineteen
cents, being the amount erroneously collected
