Chapter 515.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments section three, of article thirty-seven of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Evi-
dence," as amended by the act of eighteen
hundred and seventy-six, chapter three hun-
dred and fifty-seven, entitled "An act to repeal
section three of article thirty-seven of the
Code of Public General Laws, entitled 'Evi-
dence,' and to enact in lieu thereof the follow-
lowing;" also to repeal and re-enact with
amendment section seven of the same article ;
also to repeal and re-enact with amendment
section thirty-eight of the same article ; also
to repeal and re-enact with amendment section
fifty-eight of the same article ; also to add a
new section to the same article providing an
additional mode for taking the depositions of
non-resident witnesses ; and also to repeal sec-
tion five of the same article as amended by
the act of eighteen hundred and sixty-four,
chapter one hundred and nine, entitled "An
act to repeal sections one, two, three, four and
five of article thirty-seven of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws," entitled "Evidence," and
to enact in lieu thereof the following :
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That section three, of article

thirty-seven of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Evidence," as amended by the act of
eighteen hundred and seventy-six, chapter
three hundred and fifty-seven, entitled "An
act to repeal section three of article thirty- seven
of the Code of Public Q-eneral Laws, entitled
'Evidence,' and to enact in lieu thereof the
following"; and section seven of the same
article ; and section thirty-eight of the same
article ; and section fifty-eight of the same article
be and the same are hereby severally repealed
and re-enacted so as to read respectively as
follows :
