failure to pay said fine, together with the costs
of the prosecution, shall be committed to the
jail of said county for the period of twenty days.
This section shall not apply to the waters of the
Chesapeake and Ohio or Mill canals.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That no person, asso-
ciation, company, or corporation, shall throw or
deposit, or permit to be thrown or deposited,
any dye-stuff, acid, coal-tar, refuse from gas

houses, sawdust, lime or deleterious substances,
or cause the same to run or flow into or upon
any of the ponds or streams within said county ;
any person who shall violate any provision of
this section, or any member of any such com-
pany, association or corporation who shall per-
mit, or authorize, or direct any such violation,
shall, upon conviction before any justice of the
peace of said county, forfeit and pay a fine of
twenty-five dollars for each offence ; and upon
failure to pay said fine, and the costs of said
prosecution, shall be committed to the jail of
said county for the period of thirty days.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That no person shall
at any time, place or deposit in the waters of

low pike, pickerel, Johnny Grinnel, or any fish,
or the fry, or spawn, or milt of any pike, except
of wall-eyed or yellow pike, pickerel, Johnny
Grinnel or any fish except such fish, or the fry,
or spawn, or milt of such fish as are specified in
sections one and two of this act, or may be
placed or deposited in the waters of said county
upon the recommendation and authority of the
commissioner of fisheries of Maryland, or the
commissioner general of the United States.
Any person violating any provision of this sec-
tion shall upon conviction, before any justice of
the peace of said county, forfeit and pay a fine
of not less than fifty dollars nor more than one
hundred dollars for each offence ; and upon fail-
ure to pay said fine, and the costs of said prose-
cution, shall be committed to the jail of said
county for not less than thirty nor more than
sixty days.
