ELIHU E. JACKSON, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR

Castleman's river, in said county, at a point
where said river is crossed by the public road
leading from Stanton's Mill, in said county, to
Salesburg, Pennsylvania, if the said commission-
ers shall deem it advisable to build such bridge.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said
commissioners deem it proper to build such
bridge they shall, in erecting it, proceed accord-
ing to the provisions of the general law on that
subject.

AN ACT making appropriations for the support
of the state government for the fiscal year
ending on the thirtieth day of Beptember,
eighteen hundred and ninety.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That for the expenditures in

the support of the state government, for the
fiscal year beginning with the first day of Oc-
tober, eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, and
ending with the thirtieth day of Beptember,
eighteen hundred and ninety, the following
sums of money, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, be and the same are hereby appro-
priated ; that is to say —

FOR STATE OFFICERS.

For the salary of the governor, four thousand
and five hundred dollars ; for the salary of the

secretary of state, two thousand dollars ; for the
salary of the messenger of the governor, one
thousand dollars ; for the salary of the comp-
troller of the treasury, two thousand and five
hundred dollars ; for the salary of the chief
clerk to the comptroller, eighteen hundred dol-
lars ; for the salaries of three assistant clerks to
the comptroller, twelve hundred dollars each,
three thousand six hundred dollars, and for ex-
tra clerical services, four hundred dollars ; for
