SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That whenever the
said fish commissioners shall have any hatching

pots and all such other devices as aforesaid
within their power, as required by section one
of this act.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be
the duty of the said fish commissioners, their

said employes, and all persons who are required
to carry out the provisions of this act, to keep a
strict account of the number of eels caught un-
der the provisions of this act, and the manner
by which they are so caught, a return of which
number, manner of catching, and the most ef-
fective way to catch eels in the opinion of said
fish commissioners, shall be made by them to
the next General Assembly of Maryland.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of said fish commissioners, their employes,

and all other persons engaged in enforcing
the provisions of this act, to kill and destroy
all eels which may be caught as aforesaid,
and prepare for market, and cause to be sold at
the greatest possible price, all such eels so as
aforesaid caught; an account of which sales they
shall keep accurately and fully, and apply the
proceeds thereof in devising the most effective
ways and means in their best judgment in catch-
ing, destroying and preparing for sale as afore-
said all eels which may be caught as hereinbe-
fore directed ; and if there should be any surplus
after said allowance and expenses, the same shall
be retained and kept by the said fish commis-
sioners in part payment of their respective sala-
ries under the laws of this state ; a full report of
which said sales, allowances and expenses, and
together with the amount so retained by them,
they shall make to the next General Assembly
of Maryland.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That if the said fish
commissioners or their said employes should re-
fuse to carry out and enforce the provisions of
