LAWS OF MARYLAND.

General Assembly of Maryland of eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-four, entitled "An act to pro-
hibit the creation in future of irredeemable
ground rents and to regulate the leasing of
land," be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted so as to read as follows :
SEC. 1. Be it enacted, That all rents reserved

Redeemable.

by leases or sub-leases of land hereafter made
in this state for a longer period than fifteen
years shall be redeemable at any time, after the
expiration of ten years from the date of such
lease or sub-lease, at the option of the tenant,
after a notice of six months to the landlord, for
a sum of money equal to the capitalization of
the rent reserved at a rate not to exceed six
per centum.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 396.

AN ACT to add additional sections to article
thirty of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title
" Larceny," to follow section one hundred and
four, and to be known as sections one hundred
and four and a-half , and one hundred and four
and three-quarters.

SECTION 1 — (1044). Be it enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland, That any person who shall

be entrusted with any goods, wares, materials
or merchandise, or who shall receive or obtain
such goods, materials or other property from the
owner thereof for the purpose of manufacturing,
working up, or converting the same into gar-
ments, wearing apparel or other articles of mer-
chandise, and shall, after receiving the same,
fraudulently sell, pawn, pledge, or in any other
manner dispose of said goods or the product
