SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That in case of an

appeal by the defendant, the court shall fix the
penalty of the appeal bond necessary to be given
to stay the execution or enforcement of the
order appealed from.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 389.
AN ACT to repeal and amend and re-enact sec-
tions ninety-three and ninety-four of article
twenty-eight of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland, title "County Commis-
sioners," sub-title "Draining Lands," pro-
viding that the pay of the commissioners
shall be two dollars per day, and that of the
managers one dollar per day.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That sections ninety-three

and ninety-four of article twenty-eight of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"County Commissioners," sub-title "Draining
Lands," be and the same are hereby repealed
and re-enacted so as to read as follows :
SEC. 93. And be it enacted, That the commis-

sioners appointed as hereinbefore directed shall
each receive for every day's attendance in the
discharge of their duties the sum of two dollars.
SEC. 94. And be it enacted, That the managers
appointed as aforesaid shall each receive one
|
|
|
Compensation
|
dollar for every day they shall be engaged in
the discharge of their duty ; the surveyor, such
reasonable compensation as shall be agreed
upon between the parties ; and the clerk of the
county commissioners, who is hereby required
to keep a record of the order and report, shall
be entitled to receive for every order made and
|
