Cumberland;" and whereas said corporation
has been formed for the purpose of establish-
ing and maintaining a "Home" for sick, aged,
infirm and friendless people as an infirmary
and hospital, to be under the control and man-
agement of the following named board of di-
rectors or managers : Robert Shriver, Lloyd
Lowndes, William E. Weber, Charles H. Ohr,
M. A. R. F. Carr, Mrs. C. James Orrick, Mrs.
M. A. R. F. Carr, Mrs. Jacob Humbird, Mrs. R.
E. Johnson, Sr., Mrs. A. F. Raffensperger,
Mrs. Maria C. Little and Mrs. E. F. Giesse, who
will direct or manage the concerns of said cor-
poration for the first year ; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the treasurer, on the
warrant of the comptroller, be and is hereby au-
thorized and directed to pay to the order of the
board of directors or managers for "The Pro-
testant Home and Infirmary of Western Mary-
land," in Cumberland, the sum of five thousand
dollars, to be used in purchasing a suitable
building and maintaining the same as a
"Home" for sick, friendless destitute and in-
firm persons.
