LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Chapter 371.

AN ACT to repeal chapter one hundred and
sixty-seven of the acts of eighteen hundred
and eighty-six, entitled "An act for the better
protection of fish in the waters of Talbot-
county," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That chapter one hun-
dred and sixty-seven of the acts of eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-six, entitled "An act for the pro-
tection of fish in the waters of Talbot county," be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
so as to read as follows :

Unlawful.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall not
be lawful for any person or persons to take, cap-
ture or destroy fish in the waters of Talbot
county, except as hereinafter provided.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be law-

ful to catch fish in the waters of said county
with gill-nets and hook and line at any time ;
and it shall be lawful to take and catch fish
with haul-seines, drag-nets, fish-baskets, fish-
pot weirs, pound nets and fykes, from the first
day of August to the twentieth day of May fol-
lowing; provided, however, that the meshes in
all seines are in the bar not less than one and
one-quarter inches.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any person

and stand committed to the county jail until
