for every mile that his place of residence is dis-
tant from Denton, such mileage to be computed
for each day's attendance ; provided that no
mileage be allowed any witness within three

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws and
parts of laws concerning the pay of witnesses,
so far as the same relates to Caroline county, in-
consistent herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 361.
AN ACT to authorize, empower and require the
county commissioners of Queen Anne's county
to provide for the recording of papers and pro-
ceedings on file in their office relating to the
opening, altering and locating of the public
roads and public landings in said county, and
building or purchasing joint public bridges,
and making certified copies from said records

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the county commissioners
of Queen Anne's county be and they are hereby
authorized and required to have copied and re-
corded in a well-bound book, provided by them
for the purpose, all papers and proceedings in
their office relating to the opening, altering, con-
demning and locating of public roads and public
landings in said county, and the building or pur-
chasing of joint public bridges.
