paving of any street or streets, or part of any
street or streets, shall be done, the council shall,
after due notice thereof by them given, award
the work to be done to the lowest responsible
bidder or bidders therefor.
35. The parts of the several county roads

County roads

within the limits of said town are hereby made
and declared to be public streets or avenues of
said town, and shall be from time to time im-
proved and repaired as in the discretion of the
council the public interest may require and the
resources of the town will justify.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage ; provi-

ded, however, that until the election hereinbe-
fore provided for and the qualification of the
mayor and council elected thereunder, the com-
missioners for Rockville shall have and exercise
all the powers and authority conferred by this
charter on the mayor and council so to be elected
and qualified, the president of the commission-
ers to act as mayor until such election and qual-
ification.

and sixty-four of the General Assembly of
Maryland, entitled "An act to incorporate

amendments.
