per, with marginal notes, and bound in good
law sheep; which respective bids shall also in-
clude all other matters not hereinbefore speci-

fied, at the prices hereinafter enumerated, which
may be ordered to be printed by the general as-
sembly, or either house thereof, at said ensuing
session, and which respective bids shall stip-
ulate for doing the said work so bid for in a
good and workmanlike manner ; and all print-
ing not enumerated shall be in usual octavo
or bill folio pages, as the general assembly, or
either house thereof may expressly order, and
shall be paid for, whether plain or tabulated,
at the price of one dollar and fifty cents per
page, octavo, per thousand long primer type,
and two dollars and fifty cents per page
bill folio for the first thousand pages printed of
either, and at the rate of thirty-three per cent,
less for each additional thousand pages; but no
printing not hereinbefore enumerated shall be
paid for, unless upon an order stating the cost
of the same, and passed by a yea and nay vote
of either the senate or house; and each of the
bids so made shall be transmitted to said clerk
on or before the time specified therefor in said
advertisement, together with a bond to the State
of Maryland, in the penalty of thirty thousand

with the contract to be entered into, if such bid
shall be accepted; and said clerk shall, on that
day, at or near twelve o'clock M. of said day,
and not before, open said bids in the presence
of such bidders and other persons as may
chose to attend, and award the contract for
such entire printing as aforesaid to the lowest
responsible bidder who shall have filed with his
bid a bond satisfactory to said clerk; and said
clerk shall be the judge of the sufficiency of
said bond, and no bid shall be considered by
said clerk unless accompanied by such bond.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
